Middle Geometric Oinochoe

Black-figure wine pitcher 800BC. The pottery of middle geometric period was more settled and harmonious of the ones in the proto geometric or early geometric periods. The decoration began to cover more and more of the vessels and a number of birds(as in this one) and small animals such as horses, deers and dogs appear next to the complex abstract designs.
